Orkney Trip for 2
Description
Take a trip you'll always treasure to Orkney, an archipelago off the northeastern coast of Scotland. The islands encompass Neolithic sites, tall sandstone cliffs and seal colonies. You and one other will set off with Loganair, arriving in beautiful Kirkwall a bustling, busy town, with a historic centre full of character. Officially a Royal Burgh since 1486, Kirkwall’s name comes from the Norse ‘Kirkjuvagr’, meaning ‘Church on the bay’, and a Viking spirit still runs through the town. You won't have to worry about transport whilst on your trip, as 3 day car hire (subject to availability) will be provided courtesy of Orkney Motors - (not any of the classic cars featured in the image sadly!) You'll enjoy a 2 night stay in the Kirkwall Hotel with dinner, bed and breakfast for both nights, stepping through their vintage revolving doors and into a world of plush interiors and stunning harbour views. Dinner will take place at the Hotel's Harbour View Restaurant, where hearty classics meet the taste of the sea. Although you will be spoilt for choice deciding what to do with your time as there is plenty of fun to be had on the beautiful island, whether you're keen to experience history, culture, sports, shopping, wildlife, arts, crafts or food & drink, we've given you a head start and included a tour for 2 of Orkney Distilling. To toast such a special gift, you'll also have a bottle of collectible 17 year old John Rae Arctic Explorer Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Highland Park, so popular that it is currently out of stock in Highland Park's online shop. This fine whisky celebrates the single-minded spirit of adventure, the innate connection between land and sea, and the curiosity that shapes our world, as epitomised by Orkney-born explorer, John Rae.
